Sorry, but I think you'll find that no where in the UK is any more than 76 miles from the coast. Wink

Well earlier I looked up Walsall, and that is 72 miles I think. So quite 76 but not far off.

Where I live in the South East the south coast is around that. Though my nearest beaches are Southend and Sheerness (Isle Of Sheppey). Been to both which were, though back in the day when I had less grey hair. I have not gone as bad as Philip Scholfield just yet, but if I did, I would be straight down the chemist in the morning and be buying some "Just for men". 😆

In the early 60s BBC stereo demonstrations used the Third Programme (forerunner of Radio 3) for the left channel and BBC TV sound for the right.

The older I get, the earlier it gets late.

Now that is what I would call interesting and useless information. 🤔

A blue whale's tongue alone can weigh as much as an elephant.

Re: Useless information - part three

In 1953 Nikita Khruschchev became leader of the Soviet Union. Chairman Mao was once asked how he thought history would have differed if Khrushchev rather than John F. Kennedy had been assassinated in 1963.

Mao replied: ‘Aristotle Onassis wouldn’t have married Mrs Khrushchev.’

Re: Useless information - part three

A bit more useless info.  'Yorkshire Tea' teabags are 25% plastic and cannot be composted.  According to a prog on tele which was confirmed by the manufacturer.  PG tip teabags are ok though.
