Unusual Security Telephone Call

Yes we have all had them but other than a foreign accent this was different

It was in relation to a Hong Kong Visa application/check

As I explained I don't have a current Hong King visa (I haven't been there for 20 years) so after they asked if there was somebody else called Mr <my correct name including middle initial> at this address I advised I couldn't help

Lets us hope I have stopped a scam in it's tracks

And while talking about scams, the newest one I heard of is an automated call that asks immediately, 'can you hear me?' DO NOT say yes, just hang up.  It's a scam that uses a recording of you saying 'yes' and they tag it onto all manner of questions and plague you with calls! You have been warned...

Hm, curious one this, we heard it on Wink News TV (about 80 miles south of Tampa, FL) and a couple of days before we left Florida, my wife took a call on her mobile and answered yes to a request of 'can you hear me?' but nothing (so far) has come of it.  Maybe a copycat?
