UK Border Patrol

Just been watching UK Border Patrol on the tv its a education they showed various illegal immigrants and they raided their houses  etc but the best bit is a lot of them they new they were illegal but they could find their passports so they could do nothing.
It seems crazy they cant do anything but let them go if they cant find a passport so they let them go and tell them to report every week which they never do. So it seems all you have to do is come over here hide your passport or send it home for someone else to use and your here for life.

Re: UK Border Patrol

Many continental European countries have had them for years, and they have been able to use them in place of passports  for travel to many countries.
I don't see what all the fuss is about

Neither do I, just don't think we should have to for them.

Re: UK Border Patrol

I remember watching one of those police programmes (can't remember which one).
They'd stopped a lorry which had a load of illegal immigrants inside.
Best thing, is now they don't arrest them, because to paraphrase what they said "There are too many of them now".
So they're let on their way, and told to report to the Home Office.
Of course they will Roll eyes

Re: UK Border Patrol

I thought if a truck driver was caught coming into this country with illegal immigrants on board they were prosecuted and had the vehicle confiscated

I don't know what they did about the trucker.
But certainly there is no deterrent for those 'hitching a lift'.

What amuses me is us, the legal citizens of the UK and how we moan about everything about this country.
It can't be that bad if others will use every means available to live here Roll eyes Smiley

Why?    are they impossible to lose then?  or is it only passports that have the ability to get lost?

Re: UK Border Patrol

Think my wife has one of those, its a box under her left sholder beneath the skin, about 30x20 mm.  A bloke puts some sort of devive near it and asks what we were doing three months before, at 2:20 in the afternoon.

Re: UK Border Patrol

This is the Genuine truth.
Thought we knew but had to go home to check,  I had just bought two folding bikes that I could get in tha back of my KA  (Seats up)  and was taking her out for the first test, I ride bikes a bit more than her and to say the least she was hopeless, got about a mile away - mostly flat road, had to leave her ther and go back for the car to get us back home,  Its was all recorded on her box.
