@Strat You're weird 😉

My mum used to do that, too, but she had an excuse - she'd had a stroke and got a bit confused at times.😉

I was just brought up to be polite Smiley

As far as being weird, I sure am and it gets me through life.

Re: Trying to help, but ........

Maybe younger generation just so used to having everything on a plate or at a mouse click they just got into habit of wanting everything done for them at minimum effort on their part, maybe they just have a well developed sense of entitlement....which has been encouraged by teachers and society.

Re: Trying to help, but ........

You are correct, @wotsup , but here's the rub in the last week or so, I have suggested to four new posters that they help us to help them, and after (presumably ) reading my post they have signed out and never come back - how the blazes does that make anyone want to try and help?

Re: Trying to help, but ........

It's the same on some of the car and bike forums I haunt.

Obvious at times that the OP is not listening, does not carry out the suggested diagnostic actions but does their own thing and not understanding what they are doing.

Posters pop up with a question - sometimes it's obvious they've been conned or bought a right dog. A question or comment is made and they never respond. Sometime the question is as simple as "milage, engine size etc. No response or a rude reply.

However there are enough good people to make it worthwhile. Same as on here really ....
