Tracks on Albums

Does anyone know of a site or application that will allow me to enter a track title and find all albums where the track is included?

I'm asking as I've got this

stuck in my head so I want to buy it and add it to my collection. They do have it on their own album but I don't want that as there is more value in getting the track on a compilation CD.

@Mook

I don't know of such an app but googling I have found that it is on a cd called Massive Hits - the Seventies which seems to be available on a well known marketing site at around £5 for the three disc compilation.

It's not going to arrive for a few days but I've ordered the CD you mentioned @jgb so thanks, the next time I'll think about using Google before posting. Embarrassed

Re: Tracks on Albums

You could have just downloaded the video and extracted the sound track....

Re: Tracks on Albums

I could do that but that won't give me the quality I want for my archive with every CD I have ripped (or being re-ripped) as FLAC.

I've just searched Softly Whispering I Love You on Spotify (free version), and it shows five compilation albums with the Congregation version.

The older I get, the earlier it gets late.

Re: Tracks on Albums

It's a service I've never used @198kHz nor do I know how it works, but if its free then I suspect there's adverts which TBH would spoil any listening experience. It's the same for radio be it commercial or not, as soon as you introduce a third party then it's all down hill from there.

Yes - loads of adverts, but I wasn't suggesting that you actually listen to anything via Spotify - but merely use it to identify the compilation albums that contain the track you want.

The older I get, the earlier it gets late.

Re: Tracks on Albums

Love the tune, but what's with the eye patch... and why are all of the singers totally ignoring the conductor?

The 70s eh, what were they like.  🙂

Probably because they were "lip-synching" ... and he could not "see and hear" them !...

Grin example of a chinaman lip-synching ! ! !!  ...

Re: Tracks on Albums

Good point, @shutter  - the 'lead' singer was not very good at it, though.😁

@Mook Thanks for posting that YT link, brought back memories, and reminded me I have a load of vinyls to convert 😃

Re: Tracks on Albums

I'd like to go back to vinyl, maybe even get another Pink Triangle Tarantella, but the cost of vinyl nowadays is bonkers. You even pay a premium buying second hand as all the sellers know the true worth of the vinyl.

Re: Tracks on Albums

I thought my son was bonkers when some years back he asked if he could have all my old vinyl records. Sure I said not problem as we needed to downsize at the time anyway, "but you'll need to find somethings to play them on".

So guess who's feeling bonkers now.
