Tom Tom "Live Traffic"

I usually check out Tom Tom "live traffic" before I leave home, if I am going anywhere distant.... it is now 0845, and I checked the UK against other places in Europe..
UK has 3342 incidents, which can slow down the traffic..
Holland 37
Belguim 123
Germany 1008
France 967
Switzerland 235
Luxembourg 9
( yeah I know most of europe has been at work for an hour ? (probably).... )  Cheesy

Re: Tom Tom "Live Traffic"

If I'm not mistaken, the UK has more cars per mile of road than any other.
Possibly the incident reporting is better in the UK also?

Re: Tom Tom "Live Traffic"

As I sit here typing this, I await the imminent arrival of the postman bearing my shiny new TomTom 820. A replacement for the ageing Navman S50 the only one in the series range that has no map updates available Cry Angry
So is the TT any good? Amazon reviews seem pretty equally divided between the greatest thing since sliced bread and pure <insert your own expletive>
I've had three Navman's, two have failed, and this one currently in use seems to run out of memory space and shuts itself down occasionally, usually just when I need it most.
Experience; is something you gain, just after you needed it most.

When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you. But because in that brief moment while the coin is in the air. You suddenly know what you are hoping for.

Re: Tom Tom "Live Traffic"

I like mine but it can be very slow at picking up an initial position fix (Live XL IQ Routes model), once it has the position it usually works very well (but doesn't always know about very recent traffic incidents).  Other 'Live' features like local search (and fuel prices on route) usually work pretty well (but, again, it has taken me to recently closed down fuel stations so not perfect).

Re: Tom Tom "Live Traffic"

On the evidence of one day's use...I like it a lot.
Its interface is a bit different to the Navman, but I'll get used to it.
Certainly its computer based operations are far better than the Navman.
