Toilet Seats

Soft close toilet seats are a cunning invention by toilet seat manufacturers to boost sales of conventional seats as they are broken by visiting soft close seat owners.
They should either exchange all conventional seats for soft close versions or withdraw sales of soft close seats immediately.

Soft closers, soft paper, and soft wet wipes.

The world has gone soft!

Re: Toilet Seats

This house had a soft-close bogseat, it stopped soft-closing of it's own accord, and then later the hinges rusted out and some sticky goo oozed out (presumably the resistant material used in the soft-close jobbie) when the seat detached itself, plus it was thin plastic that bent out of shape under my ample bottom causing the occasional aiming issues for the aft torpedo launcher, so I replaced it with an MDF seat with proper hinges and life on the throne is good... Re: Toilet Seats

I've got one and I only did because:

  1. My old seat broke.
  2. I got a standard seat from Argos for £20, which lasted for 3 weeks before breaking too. The screws had come out the wood so it was not very good (I will refrain from using one word here).
  3. Went to my local B&Q and this one has seemed to have lasted longer so far (i.e. better than nothing).

Eh? I've always thought that Strat's heart was in the right place - now I'm not so sure. Huh

The older I get, the earlier it gets late.

Re: Toilet Seats

After rusted screws and fittings, from toilet humidity ! we(e) now only buy toilet Seats with all plastic fittings.

They last much longer, and look better !
