Yes. it works for the veggies. I put half a dozen holes in the bottom then put a couple of inch of pea-gravel in, then top up with compost. Carrots come up lovely, as do onions.  Thumbs_Up

If you make a sort of wigwam with canes and plastic sheet, you'll find that lettuce does well too.

A float tip is pleasing in its appearance and even more pleasing in its disappearance.

Et voilà

Had some metal bands from a long rotted away whiskey barrel stashed in my shed so at the suggestion of 'clever clogs' Mrs Minivanman I made this up this morning for growing her peas. Already had the cable ties and bamboo sticks, so this has turned out a cheap alternative to paying out for one of those towers from a garden centre. Thumbs_Up
