Thousands forced to sleep on airport floors for rescheduled flights

Thousands of British air passengers were stranded abroad last night as the chaos caused by striking French air traffic controllers worsened.
Many were forced to sleep on the floors of airports in Mediterranean resorts as they awaited news of rescheduled flights. Some face being stranded for a week.

Now what I don't understand, especially in UK Airports, that fold up camp beds are not provided.
At least one European Airport,  has rows and rows of camp beds shown when they have a flights problem.

Personally, when we travel, we have a small exercise mat stored in our Cabin Rucksacks, just big enough to sit on, and takes the chill and hardness off the Airport Floor, if forced to sit on it whilst waiting due to overcrowding.
