Re: Things I Hate About Christmas

It's worse after 50+ years and you're in your eighties. I'm not tight, but we could wear out before whatever we'd bought.

Er, come to think about with quality of goods nowadays......Undecided

No one has to agree with my opinion, but in the time I have left a miracle would be nice.

Nothing! She has everything she needs or wants so there is nothing you can buy her.

Shoes? In my experience they never ever have enough of those!

Re: Things I Hate About Christmas

Ah well that would only apply when you have oodles of cash to buy a pair of Jimmy Choo, Louis Louboutin or similar as I don't think a pair of 'sensible' shoes from Primark or Clarkes would cut it.

Re: Things I Hate About Christmas

From personal experience early in our married lives I do NOT recommend a deep fat fryer. At least last year's new garden spade has been used.

Seriously though, it's hard after nearly 50 years to pleasantly surprise SWMBO.

How about a nice set of saucepans?

Probably best to get small ones as they don't hurt so much.😀

Funny

But I was thinking more about something for yourself, maybe something which would could be counted as a 'shared' item (in the way a new Hi-Fi item or TV might be).  Wink

Edit:  Apologies @Baldrick1  I hadn't seen your post #24 above, posted a short time before my own.  EmbarrassedEmbarrassed

Re: Things I Hate About Christmas

I guess a lot of people find Christmas stressful for a variety of reasons, I suspect there are more family arguments over the Christmas period than at any other time, helped along with plenty of alcohol.

Fortunately many people will have a good Christmas and I consider myself to be one of them but I often think about those who do not and for some odd reason feel a little guilty about having a good time when others are not.

Re: Things I Hate About Christmas

Statistics show that there are more babies born in September than at any other time of the year, with the assumption being they are the result of making up after falling out over the holiday period! How much value can be put to that I don't know, but sounds reasonable enough to me.
