There`s nowt on the telly worth watching.......

However... If you like the old movies, and old t.v. progs ( in glorious Black and White )... you may find something to watch on this site...

http://tubtub.com/

Haven`t done any real "research" .. just clicked a few odd things.. to see what it was all about.. seems that most of them start off with a couple of adverts, before actually accessing the desired channel/film ...

The Lone Ranger...... John Wayne...  Sherlock Holmes...... Bonanza .... SciFI tv zone...... Dragnet...   Films of the 60`s 70`s 80`s...  Cisco Kid network.....  Popeye TV... to name a few ! ! !...

All those links are mms:// links?

You might find a downloadable TV episode or film on https://icefilms.unblocked.vip/

http://www.tvguide.co.uk/newTVSeries.asp gives a few days warning of new TV series.

Re: There`s nowt on the telly worth watching.......

That's my question too. Smiley

It's a protocol that isn't recognised by Firefox.
Is it a defunct multimedia thing like Real Player?

Re: There`s nowt on the telly worth watching.......

It's old as the link below shows but clicking on an mms:// link in Windows 10 fires off Windows Media Player and displays the content.

I must have been really bad in a previous life as this was my 3rd ISP in a row that used lithium.
Now you're stuck with me because my new ISP doesn't run a forum Cheesy

Re: There`s nowt on the telly worth watching.......

I`m using the latest version of Firefox, and Windows 7 Pro... when I click on the links, there is no problem... they open up with a message box suggesting that it ( the link ) opens with Windows Media Player... click OK.. and it works fine..

Obviously, you haven`t clicked on any links...  Doh  ! HuhRoll_eyes

Re: There`s nowt on the telly worth watching.......

I tried replacing mms with http and Firefox asks if it may use VLC.

It works - but full-screen and super-low quality (sub-VHS).

Re: There`s nowt on the telly worth watching.......

One of the problems with Linux, is that it doesn`t recognise Windows Media Player, I presume... and that is why you want to open with VLC...

EDIT

Just checked, and it is true that the Original links do not open with VLC and Firefox...  ...

Windows 1 .. Linux nil ! ! ! ...

I'm not bothered. The quality is so bad.

However, http://www.snagfilms.com/categories/ has more content and it is near VHS quality.

Yes, I'm using the up-to-date version of Firefox, and it asks me to choose an application from a list of one, i.e. Windows Media Player.

Don't you think there are enough old programmes on the 75 or so channels we have already (and that's only on Freeview)? Laugh

Re: There`s nowt on the telly worth watching.......

I'm hoping that BBC4 can still scape up a few coppers to buy a couple of Scandi-Noir series... [unintentional pun].

They would make a "Killing" Funny

The French should be coming up with the 6th series of "Engages" (Spiral) soon - and I want to see it!
