TheBigDeal latest offer.

It's out, and they have a deal with extraenergy.
Some potentially useful info...

Nice to see Ovo Energy's in first place, never had an issue with them myself...  Cool

Re: TheBigDeal latest offer.

Thanks for that info Nozzer. Last year they got us a deal with First Utility as you know. I wonder how they will react when they know they could potentially be losing around 100,000 customers Undecided
There is another of these collective deals out tomorrow so it's worth waiting to see how they compare.

Re: TheBigDeal latest offer.

I posted the link so people could see how poorly rated extraenergy is compared to the others. The problem is that all these big switch things aren't subject to any "due diligence" as far as I can see. If the company is struggling now what will it be like when it gets thousands more customers?

Re: TheBigDeal latest offer.

I know what you say is something to watch out for. They are talking about up to 100,000 customers that could switch.
Last year the Big Deal put us all with First Utility. They will now know that they colud possibly lose up to 100,000 customers. I wonder how they will react to this news. Maybe they will come out with a better deal to hold on to us.

Possibly relevant quote here.

Which? verdict on Extra Energy
Extra Energy has received a customer score that is lower than the Great Britain average of 53%. Extra Energy offers competitive tariffs, but charges consumers an exit fee of £25 per fuel.
Extra Energy did very badly in our latest 2015 call waiting time investigation - when we called 21 energy companies 12 times each, we were left on hold longest by Extra Energy. We waited between 17 and 37 minutes before a human being answered.
Extra Energy told us: ‘We’ve grown very quickly, and as we’ve grown we haven’t been able to put in place sufficient resource to cope with the call volumes we are receiving.

This might sound a little familiar to customers here (though most seem to complain about waiting a lot longer than 17-37 minutes).

The survey is 4 months old. I wonder if ExtraEnergy has improved their CS now Undecided
They are certainly offering very competitive rates.

Re: TheBigDeal latest offer.

Just done a U-Switch check for available tarfiffs, and First Utility has slightly undercut the ExtraEnergy tariff with their First Fixed April 2017 v5 (just released apparently). I shall be staying with them. They seem to be the cheapest on the market at the moment.

Certainly looks that way.  Smiley

Re: TheBigDeal latest offer.

@nozzer, yes First Utility only released that tariff yesterday. I found it to be good and have signed with them for a year.
I asked what would happen if they introduced an even better tariff in the near future as they appear to be updating their tariffs to beat the competition. They said I have 14 days to cancel my deal with them and I should check their latest tariffs within my 14 day period and if they have introduced a better deal I can go on it.
