The weather (naturally our favourite subject)

Well, I decided to wash the car today and cover it up to protect it from all the crap coming off the trees, bushes, etc..
Came back inside to get the polish.. got back out to it, went to dry it off and the water droplets had already frozen  Shocked Needless to say the polish didn't get applied and I just put the cover over instead. I got back inside and felt like I'd walked into a sauna  Crazy
Oh.. and apparently it's gonna be -5 in many places tonight along with snow falling  Cheesy

Re: The weather (naturally our favourite subject)

Well we had snow over night, at currently at freezing  Tongue
Not much snow, just enough to cover the paths and road, if they have gritted it, it hasn't melted the snow/ice on it.

Grit doesn't work from underneath the snow. It only works top down. Or at least thats the excuse I've been told numerous times..
Anyway, congrats on the snow, we've had none  Sad

Re: The weather (naturally our favourite subject)

Just back from getting my wheel bearing replaced (again!) and the road was clear from half way up the hill out of the estate, strange as it is a bus route past our house.
Dog not to happy as this snow is too icy he prefers the powdery stuff.

That's interesting hope they tightened it up to the correct torque !
On some cars it's well over 100/lb sq ft and others little more than finger tight.

Re: The weather (naturally our favourite subject)

Well since it is the THIRD one they have fitted this year I hope so. They claimed it was a faulty hub causing the failures so I had to buy a 2nd hand hub this time, still I got a free abs sensor (£45 to get one fitted last time) with it.
Back os. Up to a whole 1 deg at the moment.

[pedant mode]That is really rather low if measured over the area of the bolt[/pedant mode]
Of course in the olden days when you had opposing taper bearings they had to be set up with a small clearance
