The price of vanity vessels

These two new aircraft carriers seem to be draining the Royal Navy's resources. Now they can't afford to have missiles!

Do these planners think they can buy new ones overnight if the need arises?

Now Zen, but a +Net residue.

Re: The price of vanity vessels

Hardly vanity vessels, we are an island nation after all, but do these planners think they know more than we do - maybe that's the real question we should be asking.

Bring back those Dreadnoughts. they were unsinkable - except perhaps by another Dreadnought!

Whatever happened to the Senior Service?

Re: The price of vanity vessels

Large aircraft carriers are shielded by cruisers and frigates equipped with missiles. Ooops, we don't have any missiles!

One antiship missile can halve the size of the Royal Navy.

Re: The price of vanity vessels

Was watching some "old movies"    and came across this one...

Interestingly.. made in 1958  .... 58 years ago... and just look at the headlines on the papers ( and the sign on the dockyard wall ) in the opening scenes ! ! ..

I've noticed this a lot, that people always get this man's name wrong when it's actually Howerd.

Re: The price of vanity vessels

He did indeed but usually it was because another actor had the same name?

Better than Maurice Micklewhite anyway. Smiley
