The number of computers that you have?

I have:
- Mac Plus Running Mac OS 5.
- Macintosh laptop Running Mac OS 7.
- Power Macintosh G3 Running Mac OS 9.
- 2 Servers Running Windos 2000, which I have intentions for, 1 will be a eMail Server and second one will be a web Server, as soon as I can get them setup, by the University of Teesside, I am hoping that the University will setup the Servers for me.
- 2 PC's Running Windos XP.
- PC Running Windos ME, is the computer that I use for video editing.
- Laptop Running Windos XP
- Plus a number of different Macintoshs as well.
- 3 Commodore 64.
- 2 Commodore 16.
- 3 Amiga.
- 1 Commodore PET.
I am thinking of puting Linux on the Servers.
Some people say that I am nuts about computers.  My favourite computer is the PET from CBM, because I worked at Commodore Business Machines back in 1977 in Eaglescliffe.
Even though I am Dyslexic I'm what you might call a semi-power user of computers.    Cheesy
How many computers do you have?

Is counting VM's cheating?
Two Dell 2.8GHz Dual cores
Three VM's
A company laptop and Sun Bland150
Chilly
PS If we are counting PC not in regular use then you had better and another two.

Re: The number of computers that you have?

My netgear router uses a very cut-down version of Linux -  so it must have CPU, memory and it [obviously does networking] etc - does this count?

Re: The number of computers that you have?

The old Chairman of our company always said computers were a complete was of time and that we should remove them.
He would then pick up his mobile to phone me with a request for  Sales data reports.....ironic

Re: The number of computers that you have?

Just the one computer for me: a dual-core 2.4GHz Apple laptop, which I plug in to an external monitor, keyboard and mouse when at home. Doing that, it makes a pretty powerful desktop (I paid more to have extras like a 7200rpm HDD), but it gives me the supreme convenience of just being able to pick it up, take it in to uni, and having all of my files, applications, and everything else with me when I do.
For what it's worth, I wholeheartedly disagree that VMs count as separate computers. If you took someone in to a room, pointed at the single PC on the desk, and asked how many computers that is, they'd say 'one'. Any computer can act as more than one computer just by installing more and more VMs - the spirit of this poll, I think, is to know how many actual physical computers you have lying around.

The only difference is that the machines share the same motherboard and reside in the same case.

But can you use them in different locations without cable or wireless connection. Maybe that criteria fits the OP's poll

1 , it has various bits I threw inside, some hot, some noisy, I now enjoy point n click, I will not compare it to a Spectrum ;-)
