The next stupid idea from Plusnet?

Turn off the response to pings on the gateways so we can't tell which gateway we are on?

How, I've just done a traceroute and they seem to be showing fine... for now!

Re: The next stupid idea from Plusnet?

I'm just crystal ball gazing!
It would be absolutely bonkers, but, given some of the recent Plusnet decisions it could happen.

Reset everyone's rDNS to default, charge £5 to have it changed to something else.

Don't give them ideas as to what they can scrap next.

Old news: http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,141226.0.html
It's that dumb move (and other things) that prompted this topic.

Re: The next stupid idea from Plusnet?

Given that in the last week Plusnet re-branded their @plusnet twitter account as @plusnethelp (and have presumably started a new @plusnet account as well), I'd not be surprised if the moderators were 'sacked' and replaced by PN employees and the 'Bright Spark' status was removed.
Although that sounds like too much work, so closing the forum, and the entire community site (which has been neglected for 11 months) is likely.
First they came for the IRC, but I did not speak out because I did not use IRC.
Then they came for the tickets but I did not speak out because I did not raise tickets
Then they came for phone support but I did not speak out because I did not use phone support.
Then they came for me, and there was no way for anyone to speak for me!
Yes, I'm still here, yes, I'm still a plusnet customer, but when my contract is up, I'm jumping from the RMS Titanic and will be using the referral payments that I'll still receive to pay for what I currently use my static IPs for.

Re: The next stupid idea from Plusnet?

Don't forget that to keep receiving referral payments you need to downgrade your account which costs £20 per year - it isn't free anymore  Sad
