Re: The World Is Silent

Not a topic I claim to know much about but I understood as part of a peace deal Israel would stop further building on the West bank but failed to do so.
I also understand Israel has nuclear power but denies some arab countries the right to have the same.
These comments are not about being on someones side but pointing out some of the issues that simply stand in the way of a lasting peace which would be in both sides interests.

Re: The World Is Silent

God forbid a Arab state having nuclear power the whole world would be under threat,Hamas,Isis,AL Qaeda and Hezbollah have clearly stated there intent the destruction of the state of Israel.

Re: The World Is Silent

If you have the money you can get almost anything, some arab states are awash with money so it's only a matter of time before they get nuclear power.
What is to stop Russia from selling them the necessary equipment ? A ever increasing possibility as the West continues to increase financial and trade restrictions on Russia.

Re: The World Is Silent

Going back to the original post http://news.yahoo.com/israel-strikes-gaza-response-latest-rocket-attack-041759086.html
Quote
Netanyahu, speaking at his weekly Cabinet meeting, said he hadn't heard anyone condemn three rocket attacks from Gaza over the past two weeks. The rockets caused no damage, nor any injuries.
Quote
Early Sunday, the Israeli military carried out an airstrike in the Gaza Strip in response to the latest rocket attack from the Hamas-ruled territory. There was no immediate damage or injuries caused by the strike.
A local jihadi organization that supports the Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for the recent rocket attacks. The group, in struggle with Hamas, has said its recent attacks are in retaliation for a Hamas crackdown.
So no damage or injuries and it wasn't by Hamas who were apparently trying to stop this Islamic State group and I don't remember any condemnation of the Israeli retaliation either

Re: The World Is Silent

"During the Israeli offensive on Gaza, known as Operation Cast Lead, the Israeli military used white phosphorus rounds in densely populated areas, the UN and Human Rights Watch said." - BBC Report
When to Military Forces of a country use such practices as above, and many other examples, they tend to lose sympathy in the world. The rocket attacks were mentioned in the International Press, they were poorly aimed and essential ISIS mischief making.

Re: The World Is Silent

the use of the white phos is nasty but permitted given how it was used, Hamas made everyone a legitimate target when they used civilians as cover from which to launch overt actions,
the UN report is critical of the IDF for using it in populated areas yet failed to mention the Un compound that was partially destroyed was being used as an ammo dump by Hamas (which makes it a legitimate military target and under UN treaties also removes protection from all UN sites in the region)
like the majority of things reporting on Israeli actions they are done with only half truths and giant omissions, the UN has made a lot of noise about who is right or wrong in the region and has insisted on a lot of hoop jumping for the IDF but has failed to produce any results in attempts at disarmament or indeed to reduce the amount of rocket fire conducted from within the Palestine area's, until that happens and the IDF acts without provocation they have zero credibility and any reports condemning use of anything realistically aren't worth the paper they are printed on /
just because your paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you

Re: The World Is Silent

That sounds like an argument for collective punishment, but merely strengthens my point about indiscriminate assaults on civilians in thr ghetto called Gaza. It does not attract sympathy to the Israeli government. Presumably you can point to evidence for you assertions that the UN lies?
