Re: The ULTIMATE chinese takeaway !

I read that goods that would cost in excess of £30k to ship by plane costs £8k to ship on the train.

I assume at the moment the train returns empty. A friend told me the containers are not returned empty to China but left at the port - this seems odd.

I'd fill the containers up with the cheap junk they sent over the week before that broke after the first use and have them deal with it... Grin

Re: The ULTIMATE chinese takeaway !

As well as being a two way trade route, I also seem to recall the original silk road (which is what they are calling this) also carried and distributed the plague. Maybe this is a plague of a different kind carrying cheap trash for the likes of Aldi, Lidl's, and anybody else wanting to sell cheap tat that serves only to undermine the European markets.

We all love a 'bargain' I guess. Sigh.Sad

Re: The ULTIMATE chinese takeaway !

You would be hard pressed to find any cheap chinese tat in any Aldi or Lidl shop the majority of their offerings being of UK and European origins.

Maybe the accusing finger should be pointed in a slightly different direction.
