Re: The Transporter Bridge 100th Birthday

I remember going on the bridge with my grandfather, several times,  must have been in the early 1950`s... thought it was magic, and even built a working model with my meccano set when I got home...
Funny thing.... I don`t remember anything else about Middlesborough...!  Smiley

Re: The Transporter Bridge 100th Birthday

I found that with the diabolical rA1 roadworks from Disforth to Leeming Bar with lots of speed cameras, I tuned off at dishforth and up to Newcastle via the A19, much nicer trip, most dual

Re: The Transporter Bridge 100th Birthday

A wonderful bridge. When I lived in Seaton Carew during the fifties we used it to go shopping in Middlesbrough. My father had bought an old 1937 Wolseley 14 and I can still picture him cranking it to get it going and everyone behind fuming. Smiley
