The Sun - Free

The Sun newspaper has removed its paywall from today so it is free to read online.
The decision was announced by Rebecca Brookes new CEO of News International.

worked out they will get more income from ad revenue than they would from subscription revenue.

News International is still paywalling The Times and the FT.
They have been very pleased with the performance of the FT since it was paywalled but it has a special readership.  Wonder if they will alter The Times Undecided

of course the paywall on the sun has gone.  i doubt there were many subscribers at all.  that the times and ft remain paywalled says it all.  two of the few papers still worth a glance from time to time.

They have to pay me to read the Sun. paper version or electronic.
