The Mother of All Broadband

The Mother of all Broadband eh!
By definition that means Virgin gave birth to all Broadband.
I hadn't realised Virgin had been in existence on the broadband scene that long.
So we have Richard Branson to thank for all our ADSL Undecided

Re: The Mother of All Broadband

That's somewhat ironic given their brand name.

I fear that Virgin may be guilty of an immaculate deception here.

Re: The Mother of All Broadband

Marketing over truth  Wink
you have to admit that the V marketing machine is better than many others - but backing it up with quality customer service is something else.
They slipped up badly with West Coast Trains - blaming the old trains - which others were still using successfully - and then they bought NTL's TV cable business  - which had a very questionable reputation for customer service.
I'm not sure what sort of reputation the ADSL / BB comany that Virgin bought - weren't they a major LLU ISP even before Virgin bought them.
Virgin airlines are rather good though - in my limited experince and from I hear some others .
The silly thing about Virgins "Mother of All Broadband" markeing though - is I keep getting their glossy leaflets through the door and we are not in their fibre area.

Trouble is with the Virgin brand name, who owns what these days, a bit like BT, Branson makes his packet then hives it off to somone else, I.E. records.

Very true. Virgins airline business used to be virgin then after the BA scandal of customer stealing they sold over to BA didn't they? leaving Richard to run the ship whilst they owned it.
Then there was Virgin money which then became the one account from one...
There was something else too but my memory has let me down... should go and post about that in the getting older thread Wink
I did have a fairly good experience with virgin mobile though. They stuffed up a few times and gave me a fiver of credit on a few occassions. The downside being that they were rather expensive to ring and text other networks. Still better service than 3 or T-Mobile.
I always sorta see virgin these days as being one of those 3rd party companies. They don't own their own stuff (which they probably do in real life) like mobile masts, TV stations but are more than happy to use other peoples while skimming profits from it. Make sense?
