When I worked at Sellafield we used to have an apartment in a barn conversion in Gosforth. If I had had a hard day at work I used to go and sit on the shores of Wastwater and look at Scafell Pike or the screes (and I don't mean the pub)

Very nice.
Bet they were shot from a good SLR and not a phone camera. I don't mean to gloat but when I use my SLR I can tell the difference. I just set everything onto Auto mode, and I notice how much better it is. I am sure it is not skill on my part.
They would make nice computer wallpapers.

I don't think many published images are 'SOOC' (straight out of camera).

Yes I suppose.
Years ago, at uni we did a course on image manipulation and it is quite amazing what you can do. I suppose it is something I should get more into - they also showed us how to make bad photos look quite good.
Especially if people have older pre-digital printed photos, which can get damage over time.
I had to use one for my dad, a photo when he was young. Slight damage that someone helped me fix.
