John Lewis eh, far too posh and expensive for me.......like Waitrose we don't have one within eighty miles of us!

Guess I'm going to have to wait for either the Aldi, Lidl or Tesco at a push ones. Wink

I haven't been in waitrose for many years and never intend to.

I would never set foot in a shop where the staff abuse the disabled.

Re: The John Lewis Christmas ad 2016....

I once went to an M&S supermarket, only cos I had a voucher for something, think I only bought a sandwich... Grin

As for the christmas ads, well, makes me happy my aerial's been unplugged for a few months now, don't have an desire to plug it back in, especially at this time of year when TV ads are just annoying as hell, which is ironic considering that most of the ads are based around the birth of some heavenly being.........

Well we can all complain about how Christmas goes on for far too long and how it's been hijacked by commercialism which I guess is true but beliefs aside - and there's a lot of 'em, it's great for the kids, great to have time with family....... and great for those cash registers (sorry, credit card companies) Thumbs_Up

Some of what you say is true but if family was really that important there should be more family gatherings throughout the year and not an annual event driven by ritual.

In this instance I was referring to Christmas being the ritual, but I do agree, nowadays families don’t all remain local to each other, and actually getting together is of course not always possible or practical.

We got both and quite frankly I wouldn't bother writing home about either!

Steeper prices, few goods... Ok JL has a bit more to look at but nothing exceptional. The only thing that is better is the quality of the employees - smart, polite and very eager to assist. Go to another supermarket and you'll usually end up with someone who makes it pretty clear they're not worried about your experience.

I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!
