The Green Green Grass of Home

That proudly kept lawn has turned, tragically to straw in the current heatwave....

But all is not lost, it will generally recover once the rain comes...

Grass is very resilient.

For some reason, the soil under our grass retains its moisture, so our lawns are still a verdant green.

I regularly test it with a soil moisture meter.

Re: The Green Green Grass of Home

My lawn was turfed just over a year ago and it had started to go yellow in large patches in the heat. A spinkler and lawn feed has brought it back to a rich green but there are still some patches that have not done so well - probably because I didn't use a spreader for the lawn feed so there are some funny strips of green where I had thrown the stuff by hand. Next  time, try standing further away, and broad cast, as you would when throwing bait out to entice fishes (on a pond, not on the grass !)

This works for our gardener...
