Here's a potential disaster averted by a brave driver of a pick-up truck.

Re: The Flight Now Landing..........

Right then; I'm just setting off for Heathrow in my neighbour's Ford Transit flatbed truck to see if I can assist any other planes in landing. You reckon I should try an A380 first?

As entertaining as it was, did anyone else think the plane looked a bit computer generated?

The plane is a CGI Roll eyes

Nissan is showing a commercial with a Nissan Frontier "saving" an airplane with a landing gear problem. First of all, obviously it is fake.. the plane isn't real. The nose looks like a MD-XX, the tail looks like a 727. Also just happens to be cameras in the terminal while this is going on. Second, could a pickup truck actually save a plane in that situation?

One of my fav TV progs from the era. Hated the recent (2004?) film directed by Jonathon Frakes.
I've already got all episodes but haven't watched them for some time. I think they were also shown on UK Gold some years back. I don't think the kids of today are particularly interested as they don't seem high tech. But back in 64 they were very futeristic and exciting  Cool

...and this is what happens for real
when the nose wheel mechanism is jammed such that the nose wheel assembly is in the 90 degrees position.

Re: The Flight Now Landing..........

I caught the last half of The World's Scariest Plane Landings on 5*+1 last night.
It's amazing how the pilots keep cool heads in such adversity also knowing they can have over 500 lives in their hands.

How about the plane that was landed in the Hudson River on 14th January, 2009?

Re: The Flight Now Landing..........

That was #1 out of 10 landings on the program. They did an interview with the pilot, Chesley B "Sully" Sullenberger; such a cool & humble man.
