The Cenotaph

As always a very moving ceremony in Whitehall this morning at the Cenotaph.
As the Queen left there was a spontaneous round of applause for her. This has never been heard before and was thought to have been in response to her attending the ceremony with the high level security risks.

Re: The Cenotaph

As you say, a moving Ceremony as usual.
I think whoever wrote the BBC's news report must have had cloth ears
All that could be heard at 1100 GMT was the fluttering of leaves on what was a crisp autumn day, and the distant sound of birdsong.

I distinctly remember the squawking sound of seagulls, although they did seem a little less noisy during the 2 minutes silence.
The spontaneous applause was amazing.
