Tesco trialling "Clubcard TV" on-demand streaming service

[quote=BBC News]Supermarket giant Tesco is trialling a new TV and film streaming service called Clubcard TV.
The free on-demand service will allow the supermarket's 15 million loyalty card holders to access TV shows and films online.
Tesco is currently testing the service on its own employees before rolling it out "sometime this year", a spokesman told the BBC.
Clubcard TV will be powered by Tesco-owned online video provider Blinkbox.

It would be more apt if the Tesco owned video provider was named Blinkers. It would go down a treat with their burgers.

It's already a very competitive market and I wonder how it will perform.  The content they are trailing doesn't look that exciting Sad

Can't see what they get out of it if its really 100% free, maybe you have to spend so much a month with Tesco to get it

Apparently if you have a clubcard  you can access the service.  I bet it will carry advertising though Sad

Given that you also have to watch it on a pc I will give it a miss.
Trailing Lovefilm OD at the mo (free month) and don't think I will bother with that either, very hard to find anything on it (via my TV anyway)

Now I see what is free about it. its the subscription fee.  Films £3.49 each / TV programs £1.89 each episode or 14.99 for the series

They are the costs for Blinkbox (owned by Tesco) .ClubcardTV (powered by blinkbox) is a service paid for by the adverts you will have to sit through.

Re: Tesco trialling "Clubcard TV" on-demand streaming service

Can I get it on the "Retune at least three times a year until we scrap it even though we said it would be a brilliant replacement for terrestrial TV" freeview? lol
