Tesco to open drive-thru store

Quote
Supermarket giant Tesco is set to open the UK's first drive-thru store, it has been announced.
The service is aimed at customers who do not want to carry out their weekly shop themselves, but who also do not have time to wait at home for an internet delivery.
Instead for a flat fee of £2 they will be able to drive to a dedicated area in a Tesco store at a set time and pick up their shopping without having to leave their car.
The first drive-thru store is being launched at the group's Tesco Extra store in Baldock, Hertfordshire, tomorrow Today as a pilot.

Re: Tesco to open drive-thru store

we  have the Victorians to thank for  all that
at that time they were able to build  the worlds largest  indoor drive in  capability
here is the famous Pompeian  Brunel's Bristol old  railway  station
its thanks to this architecture that Tesco and other companies are able to drive in somethings like this
Brunel's new roof design  needed no  central pillars
this station is  now hidden from  the public
the only access now to this huge 'shed' is through a tiny  wooden door

Re: Tesco to open drive-thru store

Micheal  and the swindon to bristol journey(part  of the great western railway)  including the inviting stop  in Bath   was on telly last night  8 to 8.30 pm
the hammer beam roof at the cathedral  sized railway station at bristol was the first of it kind in the world
the old bristol railway station hammer beam roof is similar to this  one taken from  inside the  church below
the same  hammer beam  roof  is used  in the uk's house of parliament

Re: Tesco to open drive-thru store

it all looks very gothic and norman to me pierre what do you think?
13th century crusader french style
the church above is 19th century
and my guess is that for  tesco's  state of the art food  Tesco will require and use a state of the art roof
