Re: Tesco Home Delivery

Knock, knock, who's there ?

The new 21st Century Knocker Upper !

It is understood one of the measures being examined would allow deliveries to be made at times which are currently viewed as anti-social - late in the evening or very early in the morning.

Could be worse.

Could be Italy !!

Need to think of the people who work 'unsociable hours' - I worked shifts for

about 5 years ( in 'just-in-time' automotive assembly manufacturing ) and shifts

- in fact anything that takes you out of working sociable hours are the pits....

not ony for socialising but your health as well,  working regular nights can cause

diabetes amongst other things, as well as depression.

Re: Tesco Home Delivery

Don't have to tell me twice about depression and being awake through the night, I spend a lot of my time awake at night bored out of my mind, back in Lancashire when the 24hr Asda was within walking distance, I'd take the opportunity to do shopping during the night so I wasn't bored out of my tree, but here the nearest Asda is half an hour's walking one way, and along a path with no lighting whatsoever with cheap plastic cider bottles strewn all over it...

Re: Tesco Home Delivery

Just had a mega delivery, hopefully my last for a while.

Bulked up with lots of fresh Fruit this time

85 items, all supplied, no substitutions

(I didn't order paper products, getting those elsewhere, plentiful supply.)

Should see us OK for a couple of months now, except for Bread.

6am shops see to that.....

Re: Tesco Home Delivery

At my usual Tesco today there was a large display of paper towels by the entrance; I didn't check for toilet rolls since I didn't need any.  No sign of any shortages in the aisles I visited; a bit thin on chocolates but two members of staff were there with tablets, presumably logging what items were required.  More people than usual queuing for the check-outs but no overloaded trolleys full of toilet rolls or anything else.

Re: Tesco Home Delivery

That is so unfair! How many people are having to go without because of this person's selfish greedy attitude!

@Mook    Perhaps he had this in mind:

We had an ocado delivery today.  Everything was there including toilet rolls.

@Lægen, having seen @artmo's post No. 33 here , I wonder whether the Sussex's have bought a larger van and spotted a gap in the market.

Re: Tesco Home Delivery

That @ffox is tantamount to extortion, but I doubt it will sell at that price.

Re: Tesco Home Delivery

I have a feeling someone put that up as a joke listing, but the fun part about joke listings is when people actually bid it up, because the selling fees for massive numbers can be quite hilarious... 🤣

Re: Tesco Home Delivery

Thankfully I have plenty at the moment but having IBS I may need to put a bid in myself!

Re: Tesco Home Delivery

I saw two spare rolls on a shelf in the church toilet, where my choir practices.

I practised very strict restraint.😏

No one has to agree with my opinion, but in the time I have left a miracle would be nice.
