Taxpayers pay MPs' energy bills

Hi All
Just seen this:
[quote="The Northern Echo"]
Taxpayers pay MPs' energy bills on second homes
NINETEEN MPS from the region have claimed back energy bills on expenses, forcing taxpayers to foot the cost.
As many families struggle with fuel poverty and heating bills, an investigation by a national newspaper has revealed that hundreds of MPs have had their energy bills paid by the taxpayer.
More than half of the country’s MPs submitted claims for heating their second homes, amounting to £200,000 a year.
According to the Sunday Mirror, 340 MPs claimed the expenses for energy such as electricity, gas coal or other fuel. Stratford-on-Avon politician, Nadhim Zahawi, submitted the largest claim, totalling nearly £6,000 while Labour leader Ed Miliband claimed back £403.59.
In the region, York Central MP Hugh Bayley submitted the highest bill of £1,773 for gas, logs and coal, followed by Newcastle East MP Nicholas Brown, who claimed £1,174.

Re: Taxpayers pay MPs' energy bills

Terrible, isn't it.  Bad enough that they 'earn' way above the average wage of those they supposedly represent but they seem to want to claim everything going as well.
What a bunch of absolute rotters.

Do not vote for the LibLabCon.....don't vote for the 3 big parties...they are liars, cowards, traitors and corrupt...destroy them and force them out of politics by voting for anyone but these scumbags.

Re: Taxpayers pay MPs' energy bills

They have been ripping off the electorate for years. Despite being found out about a number of these fiddles they simply do not bother and continue with some other con. Notice how 'we haven't broken any rules' comment when found out.
Compare that with the action taken against someone with no car tax, television license, parking etc and it's clearly one law for one group of people and another for the rest of us.
No worries for them about waiting in A&E for hours, or the cost of travel, food bills or lack of a good pension.
As for not voting, that will achieve little as no matter how low the total vote is they will still get in, that's why I will waste my vote on ukip no chance of them getting in and they have some bizarre ideas but it might just send a message to the current lot who take votes based on the lies they tell.

No, just, no! Angry
It's bad enough the "Powers that be" are forcing energy companies to put bills up for the general public, but they're getting funded by taxes? I'm sorry but  what he hell?!

Well, quite - given they make the rules, how dumb would they have to be  Roll eyes
It's just like political corruption generally: giving money in return for political favours satisfies every defintion of briberty .. except the legal one.  Legally, it gets called "Making a Political Donation" and somehow, that's supposed to make it fine  Crazy
