Re: Talk Like a Pirate Day

Eeeh nar me  `earties... Wen ar wer a young whippersnapper, me fav`rit telly programme, { in days of BBC only (black & white) } were
"Long John Silver".... played by Robert Newton,
  ee became my `ero....  Cheesy
"Ahaaargh, Jim lad, go fetch me a` apple, from the barrel, sit ee down, an` I`ll tell ee summat, `ll make yer `air fall out! " Shocked
Later on in my life, I actually lived in a house that he lived in, and frequented the same pub (though he was dead by then so did not manage to buy him a drink with some dubloons I found on Scarborough beach.
(I know the story of his death too!) Cry

The pub was "The Blackboys" which was owned by another filmstar of the same period, and was the haunt of many other filmstars when not working.
