TV Reception

Recently we have been getting poor reception on some TV Channels at random times, there must be at least a 100 different reasons why this might be happening and it's not easy to know where to start.
The Only electrical item that has changed in the house since this started are the router and modem for fibre but I cannot see this being the problem and assume it's a coincidence ?
Any thoughts on what is the most likely thing it could be ?

Re: TV Reception

I have a TV in the living room and one in a bedroom.
Recently I started having reception problems and traced the problem to a failing aerial splitter/booster.
Replacing it restored good reception.
Do you have such a device either near a TV or on the aerial mast.

Re: TV Reception

No splitters or mast amplifers but it will cost me nothing to check out the cable connections to the aerial.

Re: TV Reception

4G interference maybe?
or could be the aerial has moved slightly.
if it's happening on Dave or Dave ja Vu, then i'll most likely be an aerial out of alignment by a few mm's... although that would happen all the time rather than just some of time, unless it's atmospheric issues causing it.

Re: TV Reception

A far greater chance of me falling off the roof than the Aerial.

Re: TV Reception

Is your aerial outside?
Could be a bit of windy weather has shifted it slightly.
I had the same with Sky, the brackets holding up my aerial pole were shit (Sky dish is attached to it).
Knocked out Sky complely.
I wasted £65 on Sky coming to realign the dish (now I realised that didn't fix the real problem), so it worked for a few weeks then went down again. I used to mess around readjusting it myself. Good thing about living in a bungalow is I didn't have to climb too high Grin
In the end I spoke to a local hardware store with a iPhone picture of what I had and he told me no wonder it was bad and sold me two hardcore brackets. Got a builder friend to fit them and he also aligned my dish using a iPhone video call so we could see my signal menu while he was on the roof.
Worked fine ever since and I still have a better signal than I had when Sky realigned my dish.
