Re: TV Licence Fee Increase

@wotsup

I wonder what the connection is between those that vigorously defend the BBC licence fee, and those that support lost causes?

It's just so weird.

I can help with the answer to that. It’s an inverse relationship. As opposed to the direct relationship between those who support(ed) brexit and those that can’t see the truth even when it is blatantly obvious to anyone with any sense.

@rEUnite

The error is with the cartoonist.....unless of course it's American in which case the spelling is correct.

Desperate to be critical so grasping at straws.

Best ignored if that's all they've got to be honest.

BBC news this morning, the queen's nephew is getting a divorce.

Really?

No wonder the corporation is going down the plug hole with this sort of pointless tripe and no, I didn't read the article before somebody asks.

So BeeB is going down the plug hole for reporting a divorce. That "news" is also in the Daily Telegraph, and I don't doubt other papers. If that is your criterion for mews media going south, then more should follow swiftly @Minivanman. IMO they should even be well in front of the BeeB

No one has to agree with my opinion, but in the time I have left a miracle would be nice.

@Luzern

Perhaps you are missing the point?

The Telegraph can print what likes as can any other news outlet, in fact a story about 'royals' no matter how far down the pecking order they are would be right up their street I imagine, but the BBC is a state/taxpayer funded corporation, it is not there to supply us with brown nose news items that serve to pander and excite a minority, it is there to provide impartial high quality output, not narrow interest brown nose garbage.

Majesty Magazine it ain't.

Revolution comrades! 😛

How much does the state/taxpayer give the BBC?

Who's vigorously defending the Licence Fee?

AFAIAC it's little more than an anachronistic tax on the ignorant at this point.

I'm in favour of the licence fee.

Re: TV Licence Fee Increase

Should the BBC go to a subscription service then the sum of the monthly charges will probably be greater than the current yearly charge.
