Swine Flu

It's possible that swine flu will declared a pandemic today. Here in the UK we have nearly 800 reported cases.

Re: Swine Flu

I attended a meeting this week of my local Primary Care Trust where one item on the agenda was Swine Flu.  We had a very informative talk from the Infections Control Matron.  She said they were getting almost daily updates from the World Health Organisation and the government.  They in turn are passing briefings on to all our local GPs on a regular basis.  One interesting fact that emerged was that in the autumn when we are offered our annual flu jab we will also be offered one for SF as well. I think this is Tamifle.

Re: Swine Flu

A few weeks ago the government said they had ordered enough of this vacine for the whole population - so maybe we will all be contacted by our doctors.
I was at my doctors last week - and they have large notices about it, disinfecting sprays which all visitors must use .

Re: Swine Flu

I think the idea is to offer it to everyone but it was specifically mentioned alongside the normal flu jab.
