You can track the projected path by clicking on "Earth" and selecting the > arrow for four-hour intervals or >> for 24 hour intervals. Clicking the mouse pointer exactly on an area of wind within the storm gives the projected windspeeds.

And another one headed for the Carolinas.

Florence & Mangkhut !!

There is no escape !!

Thankfully, relatives & friends are out of danger on the projected paths.

We have Skyped people we know.

Good coverage on various International News channels here in the UK

Re: Super Typhoon Mangkhut Hong Kong

CNN from London had an excellent News programme this afternoon, illustrating both Super Typhoon Mangkhut and Hurricane Florence.

Super Typhoon Mangkhut is the larger weather event, but of course it's not affecting America !!

So gets less coverage on other News outlets.

I'm really liking CNN at the moment, as both regions are of interest to myself, and family.

We have relatives, friends, property & businesses in both regions, though thankfully somewhat away from critical areas.

CNN are now doing continuous LIVE broadcasts  including Super Typhoon Mangkhut....

The most powerful Storm just about ever.

More powerful than Hurricane Florence in the States

Re: Super Typhoon Mangkhut Hong Kong

Tropical Storm Mangkhut has passed the Philippines, causing some damage, but nothing like 1,000's of deaths from previous storms

It is now headed towards Hong Kong, tough thankfully looks like it will just avoid HK Island.

Amazing video on SKY News this morning

As elsewhere, the storm surge of water is the danger

The view from our Hotel room, overlooking Victoria Harbour, HK.

From a previous visit to HK

One of many

We would have a super view of the Typhoon, if we were there today !

Re: Super Typhoon Mangkhut Hong Kong

Our relatives in HK have been untouched by Mangkhut, the property is not damaged at all, just a few trees down locally.

Lots of Rain, but no flooding where they live.

They are returning today.

All is ok, so I have no further interest in following Mangkhut progress.

We have a 3 way SKYPE chat planned for later this week. UK, HK & SC.

And will see everyone at Christmas.
