Summer Back Again

Summer has returned again this week but not for long Sad Temperatures in London yesterday reached 84ºF - 29ºC. More the same today but breaking during tomorrow with the return of the rain.

I hope it stays dry on Saturday - I'm going to the Open Air Theatre in London.

Re: Summer Back Again

@nozzer yes that's the one. Been there many times and never been disappointed with any production. This year the main attraction is 'Jesus Christ Superstar'. W e have seen it a few times before elsewhere but this production has had great reviews.

It's auditorium is one of the biggest in London and it boasts the longest bar of any London theatre.

Re: Summer Back Again

Looks dry and about 24C in the evening.

They also seem to have got the seating spot on with plenty of legroom and visibility everywhere.

Re: Summer Back Again

Yes, it's a perfect auditorium for visibility and legroom. Not a bad seat in the house Smiley

Re: Summer Back Again

It was a bit warm in our back garden... actually got the fan out on an extension lead,  whilst sitting on the chaise lounge in the shade... the temp reached 32.5 c or 90.5 degs F.   in old money... and it stayed like that for about 1.5 hours..

Re: Summer Back Again

@shutter We could have done with your fan yesterday when we visited the Open Air theatre. A full house basked in 27ºC - 80ºF.  A great performance as well. Smiley

Re: Summer Back Again

Only a small desk fan... but I suppose it would have made a nice breeze

Re: Summer Back Again

Well August is set to go out with a bang Smiley We've had a fantastic Bank Holiday weekend finishing today with 25ºC.

The rest of the week looks good as well with 26ºC promised tomorrow.

Has it been the same elsewhere?

Re: Summer Back Again

Was about 20-ish up here today, fired up my Weber and had me some tesco microsteak (cos they're tiiiiiiny compared to a real butcher's offerings!), aswell as gave one of the obnoxious leylandii a haircut (still got two more and a hawthorn hedge to do, I'm saving those for tomorrow), was getting late by the time I got to that so had to stop as the sun was going down behind Pontop Pike and blinding me in the process, even though I had my sunnies on... Cool smiley

Re: Summer Back Again

Never mind tomorrow, today's so damned humid that I tried repairing the garden table, cutting out pieces of wood to replace some rotted out brace pieces, and I was sweating so much that it was rolling down my face making it look like I was in tears!! I only got one brace done (well, cutting it out, never mind the drilling for screw & bolt holes!) before having to stop cos I was just too hot and sweaty to continue... Crazy2

Wouldn't call it a return of summer though, it' still the season of summer, it's just not been that hot... Crazy
