Staycation

According to the Lifehacker site, the Americans who, due to the credit crunch, can't afford a proper holiday, are now holidaying at home and calling it a 'Staycation'.
Apparently it has to be planned properly or else it ends up being a time to clean out the garage or do the decorating or some other tedious task.
You have to pretend that you are away e.g. switch off the telephone, don't use the computer or answer mail.
Then you need to decide what you want to do with the time and where you would like to go.
Got me thinking what I would do if I had a holiday at home. I think that I would be pretty useless and be tempted to do odd jobs.
Lots of nice places to see around here so wouldn't be short of days out, although they could end up being a bit pricey.
Any other thoughts on how to spend a staycation or if you could do it successfully?

Re: Staycation

I doubt I'd get away without doing any jobs... better to go away if you ask me, even if it's a tent in the local park  Shocked
