Re: State pension query.

Are you paid weekly or monthly?  If monthly it will be on next pay date.  If weekly and you normally get it Monday then you should also have received the new pension.  Did you receive a letter a few weeks ago giving details of the rise and when it would be paid from?
[Incidentally, I am sure that  in past the pension rise has been paid the first Monday of April now it is the second Monday but perhaps I am mistaken]

Re: State pension query.

The pension increase is effective from the first Monday of the government's fiscal year, which begins on April 6th.

What makes you think they will increase your pension?

Re: State pension query.

Forms clearly state that new rates apply from 11th April 2011.
SWMBO gets pension weekly so was paid on Monday. I'm paid 4 weekly so will get 2 weeks at old rate and 2 at new rate paid Thursday of next week ( normally be Friday)

Re: State pension query.

I believe that the "four week" payments are not all paid in the same week, and so for those being paid every four weeks, the number of weeks at the old and new rates will vary, depending on which week they are paid.

Re: State pension query.

I Think this may be the answer to my question as I got the state pension in December 2010.
Benefit payment changes that start from April 2010
The changes also affect the payment of State Pensions. If you reach State Pension age on or after 6 April 2010 you'll be paid in arrears on a day linked to your NI number. This means you will be paid at the end of your pay week, not from the start. Your payday is the day you normally receive your payment (sometimes called your ‘pay week-ending day’).

True and I'd imagine that it all dates back to when one first got ones pension.

You should get this week at new rate.

Re: State pension query.

But you are unlikely to notice any real difference.
