Stars in your eyes ??

... or should it now be called  The Harry Hill show ?Huh
Admittedly, I have never liked Harry Hill, but I did used to like Stars in your eyes .
Well,I decided to watch it as at least I should enjoy the singing.
The show seemed to be more about Harry Hill than  the singers.
I don't think that one of them sang a full song, not that I particulary rated any of them anyway .
And to cap it all ,the take off of the Everly Brothers was done by a man and a woman
Surely, with the whole country to pick from, they could do better than that ?
Honestly, I would rather watch repeats of the old show than watch another one of those.

I don't particularly like Harry Hill either. His humour tends to just pass me by although some of his comments on You've Been Framed are funny - probably because I can't see him Wink
I thought Matthew Kelly did a good job but I felt Leslie Crowther was genuinely routing for each of the participants.
Last time I watched it I thought 'Oh, dear, just more of the same' and it seemed more about making them look like the stars than sound like.
I'm giving it a miss.

Re: Stars in your eyes ??

Have ANY of these, so-called, stars  ( in their eyes ) ever made the BIG time?
Seems to be just an ego busting thing to me... or your "five minutes of fame"... now get on with your day job, before you get fired. !

Re: Stars in your eyes ??

I never liked stars in their eyes. It used to be a show with people singing older songs that just didn't appeal to me in any way shape or form.
It was a predecessor to the later shows Popstars, Popstars the Rivals, Pop Idol, X-Factor.. and frankly it should have stayed there - in the history books.
The moment I saw the trailer with Harry Hill asking for contestants I cringed that he'd dragged it back up again. I think it's one move that has actually harmed his career and i'm a big HH fan!
I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!

Biggest load of rubbish on tv at the moment, rehash of old ideas & made on the cheap
The set just looked cheap & the " talent " was pretty much worse then you could see down karaoke night at the local pub.

I saw the first act, decided it was nothing like Kylie and turned it off.
Let's be careful out there !

Re: Stars in your eyes ??

Seems like I was far from the only one that thought it was rubbish.
