Standards dropping on BBC?

Just a quick aside.  Flicked TV on Saturday morning and weather forecast was on.  Lovely graphic of United Kingdom with a legend across the centre reading
                                                                                                  HOTTING UP  .
Is that grammatically correct? Surely 'getting hotter' or Heating up' would be more appropriate.  Even if it can be given credibility, am I the only person who thinks this is incredibly 'clunky'?
or am I just too picky?  There are lots of grammatical faux-pas that annoy me, i think this may be first of many postings on this topic Angry
( my wife tells me I am a grumpy old so and so...)

Agree.... ( from another grumpy old git ! )
Their timekeeping is abysmal too.... Posted somewhere else about how the schedule says "The One Show"  ( What kind of title is that ? ? ?) starts at 19:00 but inevitably starts 2 minutes earlier. WHY ?

Re: Standards dropping on BBC?

Another pet hate is when someone says  " I don't think you should do that".
How dare they?
By their own admission they 'don't think'.  So what right have they got to try and enforce their opinion on me, dammit? I have taken the time to think BEFORE I acted - so who is most likely to be correct?

Would you be happier if they said 'I think you shouldn't do that'? Cheesy

It would make more sense grammatically.

Re: Standards dropping on BBC?

Maybe it should be "Hotting up it is".
With Yoda doing the weather forecast.
