Sorry to leave but too prices uncompetitive

Sorry to be leaving, wanted to give you the opportunity to price match but it seem customer services can't / won't do it.
Plusnet - Line Rental £10.50.
Unlimited Broadband £9.99 per month
Total = £20.49 per month

Talk Talk - Line rental £9.50
Totally Unlimited Broadband - £3.25 per month for the full 12 month contract

Total = £12.75 per month

http://sales.talktalk.co.uk/product/broadband/essentials

So for essentially the same product, that's nearly £8 per month different!

Any time talk packages  £4 per month on Plusnet and £5 on Talk Talk.
So total Anytime package:
Plusnet: £24.29 per month vs Talk Talk £17.75 per month for the same package.
In Summary, good service but poor pricing. Nearly as extortionate as the BT parent company!

Re: Sorry to leave but too prices uncompetitive

Yeah the service is good but recently prices went up whereas other providers prices went down.
They're now uncompetitive and retentions don't care, they'd rather let you leave.
Reminds me of what happened to British Gas a few years ago when they decided to stand on prices: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/business/british-gas-loses-1000-customers-a-day-1261286.html

It's up to you what you do, I don't care either way, but I do wonder if you are aware of the reputation of Talk Talk. I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.

Re: Sorry to leave but too prices uncompetitive

the website shows line rental as 14.95, do they offer a line rental saver?
And they do throttle P2P if you use that.

They do offer LRS - and that is the price used in the OP comparison.  Standard charge is £14.95.
What happens after the 1 year 1/2 price offer?  It is unlikely to continue, so you have to move again.

As far as I'm aware we've already offered you a deal and you've decided not to accept it? Deals will vary from market area to market area and in some cases from customer to customer.

I came from Talk Talk so I'm fully experienced with their service.
I'm afraid money talks at this end of the market.

Hi Alsone1
I'm sorry to hear that you are leaving.
Ultimately the offer that you have received from TalkTalk is cheaper than our wholesale costs and as such, we wouldn't be willing to match them.

And they do throttle P2P if you use that.

Their line rental saver is what I quoted, £9.50.
If you click on "Broadband and Phone" towards the bottom of the offer page, you'll find the £9.50 rate contained within the text.
Alternatively if you click "Buy" on the offer page and then edit your basket, you can select £9.50 line rental.
No where does it say they throttle P2P if you take out up front line rental. In any event I don't file share.
