Re: Social distancing.

I`ve seen a driving instructor and pupil, both wearing a mask, while out on a lesson !

Re: Social distancing.

So total lockdown.....R number reduces to .3 or less....success !

Weeks later everyone is out celebrating........

Weeks later the R number is above R1....

Welcome to the roundabout.......

Support a lockdown or not.....whatever your choice it will be wrong....

Re: Social distancing.

Yeah... frying pan and fire comes to mind......

However... I think the main advantage of a Lockdown, either local or national, is to give the hospitals some "breathing space" for want of a better term... if they are being overwhelmed by new cases they have nowhere to go...

stop people grouping up, will slow the admissions rate, and hopefully, give the anti-virus labs and factories more time to produce enough quantity of a quality product.

down side is...  employment and businesses suffer, which brings the economy down.

a very difficult balancing act for those Whitehall Mandarins, (civil servant heads iof  departments) advising the mouth pieces ( Government) what to do for the best.

Re: Social distancing.

It’s a no win situation.....

Things seem just as bad in some parts of Europe and the rest of the world.

Different approaches are being tried but even social distancing is limited and has long term financial consequences for the country and the future for young people.

Re: Social distancing.

As big a bug bas Covid is the fact that not everbody follows the rules, but is that unexpected.

It so much reminds me of the anti-static procedures they tried to introduce at work where it only took one person in the chain not to comply and the whole thing just fell apart.

Re: Social distancing.

Well my council has increased our level from Medium to High. Second level down from the top one I believe.

It is still very confusing - you are not supposed to visit anyone else unless you're in "Their support bubble" whatever that means? Does that mean I can visit my sister and niece then? Only they live at the other house - theirs.

I had a couple of friends around Friday night and Saturday morning. As I live on my own, you're allowed to have people around from what I can see?

When it turned round 12am on Saturday I just said "Oh we could be breaking the law now!".

A few more beers later it was 1:30am, well that went quick. I still don't know if I broke the law as it is about as clear as mud.

Note if the Police are reading this, it was a joke. Denial is not just a river in Egypt you know. 😛

Re: Social distancing.

@Alex

I admit the could be clearer, but even at its most basic level of just wearing a mask and staying within your own lockdown area, the rules are not being followed.

As for the rest, consider what is sensible and reasonable and comply as best you can.

Is it all rocket science? It's really not y'know Alex.
