Soaring High

This is very clever.  I wonder how long it took him to perfect?

Re: Soaring High

Theres talen and then there is sheer utter amazement. This is the latter.
I thought it was three people flying them until the camera zoomed out and showed one man in control of all three. Thats incredible.

Re: Soaring High

Yeah I thought that was very clever too. Clearly a very talented guy.
What I thought was incredible though was how he launched them so easily! A real pro by any standards but three of them?  Shocked

Re: Soaring High

Thanks NedLudd.  Here's a bit of info about Ray Bethall who is flying the kites:
Quote
The man flying the 3 kites is in his 80s, and he's from Canada.  He
comes to the Washington State International Kite Festival every year.
His skin is like leather as he normally flies with his shirt off.  He is
deaf, so when he flies people hold their hands up and wave them for applause.  He flies 2 with his hands and the 3rd one is attached to his waist.  Enjoy!

Re: Soaring High

Thanks for the link 4C.  Puts a totally different meaning to the phrase, 'Go fly a kite'.

Re: Soaring High

I was particularly moved when he explains how he met the children with terminal cancer, and realised that his deafness was no big deal.

Re: Soaring High

Shame it's not deinterlaced. Still, very graceful, and all accompanied by one of my favourite arias.
