"Adam Laurie is no ordinary hacker. In the world of computing, he is considered a genius - a man whose talents are used by government departments and blue-chip companies to guard against terrorists and cyber-criminals."
I am quite sure that the truth of the matter is that he had access to some information, a key if you like, that will be a heavily guarded piece of information that is not really available.
There is an area of technology, I shall not say which, Mr Lauire and cohorts would turn up and show us 'how he hacked this technology' and really it was not hacking at all.
Now if the comment from the DailyMail is with regards to a service he provides, which is http://www.thebunker.net/ then it holds some truth, but not relevant to this article at all.

Quote from: Be3G Hooray! Someone else who actually knows how to spell that phrase properly. I normally end up asking people if their breath smells of maggots.
See http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/bated-breath.html for the reason behind the spelling.
