So.. how do you..

Print a webpage?  Cheesy
Seriously.. this is the PN forum main page:

now using my favourite browser seamonkey, this is the print preview:

That is WITH the background images and colours setting checked. Clearly the browser ignores the css styling.
IE does the same:

How Mozilla or MS think this is a good idea is beyond me.
So.. How do you print yours?!

Re: So.. how do you..

Same result for me with both Google Chrome and Firefox.
Edit: I have a Print to PDF option yet even that gives the same result.

Yes same here too. I have CutePDF printer installed as a printer but that does just the same  Roll eyes
I can understand the browser software houses not printing background images and colours by default but surely if you select them then it should also apply the styling too (or at least do the styling without the colours and background images)!

Re: So.. how do you..

I have resorted to using the Snipping tool in the past but then you need to joint it all together if more than a screen full before printing. Fortunately, I rarely print web pages.

+++++++++++++++++++
My setup...
Apple Mac
OSX 10.9 Mavericks
Firefox 25.0
Print to PDF v1.5     Add-On Extension
Works fine for me. Saves 4 pages.
I can then print from the PDF OK.
(The usual route of    Print, save as PDF, or print preview gives minimal page, as above)

Get Add-Ons Search from within Firefox Add-Ons menu item under Tools

An extremely useful add on, works in the background too.
ie You can navigate away from the web page being downloaded.
Is there a Windows version of
Print to PDF v1.5     Add-On Extension

The browser is doing exaclty as it's told to, as the forums pages present a CSS document for print.
The rules within that stylesheet govern how the browser lays out the document for printing  (including background images).
In the absence of a print specific CSS (or print specific rules withing the main CSS),  the browser would present the page largely the same as seen on screen.
