Re: So,..... Who is counting them ? ? ?

I recall as a lad walking on Llandudno front with my Mum and Dad during a Ladybird swarm.

We couldn't open our mouths to breath, just breathing through our noses.

We soon turned back for the cottage we were staying in.

On the way back we saw a man laid face down on a towel on the beach with his back covered in Ladybirds.

Later in the afternoon we went back out as the swarm had cleared.

Our free range chickens just love Flying Ant Days.

Edit: Has anyone seen Swallows or Martins yet? They seem to be late.

Now Zen, but a +Net residue.

You leave a few questions in the air.

Was the man still there? Alive or dead? If not, had he walked away, or been consumed by the creatures?

If the latter, do we assume the Russians had a hand in the swarm?Funny

No one has to agree with my opinion, but in the time I have left a miracle would be nice.

We first spotted house martins here in Cambridgeshire 3 weeks ago.

Not exactly "flying ants".... but I suspect that was on the menu, when I took this ( from about 250 manually shot pics) about 10 years ago, when we stayed on a farm in Wales..

The house martins disappeared for 10 days or so. Now they are back.  Do you think they are about to raise a second brood?
