When I was in Sheffield for the winter of 62/63 there weren't too many problems but then again we walked everywhere  Grin

Re: Snow shoes for Sheffield

I don't think anywhere in the UK can handle snow !.
You have to go Scandinavia to see them really do well in snow and ice.
Good fun being driven on ice with studded tyres at 80kph
Airport with multiple wide snow blowers/ ploughs that can clear a runway in about 5  to 10 minutes, SAS pilots who can land on ice.

No snow here, north of Oxford, which is a shame as I'm gonna have to get the train to the smoke.
Though you never know what random train I'm gonna get on...

It is snowing here, in Middlesbrough.  Wink

It rained and hailed whilst I was cycling to the station, that wasn't very nice.

Re: Snow shoes for Sheffield

Yep, though it would be incredibly difficult - even for me - to get on the wrong train coming down, there's only 1 train in the station at that time of morning.  Grin
looking forward to picking a random train on the way home... Scotland anyone?

Re: Snow shoes for Sheffield

Only a couple of inches of snow here.
Usual panicking drivers though - usual 7min commute took a wondrous 45mins. Grrr

To be honest, even if you'd got an A in Geography you probably wouldn't have heard of it - about the only claim to fame Enfield has is that it was the location of the country's first ATM.

Ab-so-lu-te-ly horrendous here.
We've got freezing rain and gale force winds. Proper chicken weather.

Re: Snow shoes for Sheffield

Ah but there is no mention of snow and little gust is counted as gale force down there (or here as I am at the moment)
