Happens every year at about this time.

Isn't this phenomenon referred to as October?

That or Autumn. or the Fall as (some of) our colonial cousins persist in calling it.

I think it's only really in the Western Colonies that they refer to 'Autumn' as 'Fall', in the Southern Colonies they call this time of year 'Spring'. Shocked

Thank you w32 for your attention to detail. My latter post has been amended to take into account that not all of the British Empire is/was located north of the equator.
Pedant mode on/
But you failed to mention that the southern spring occurs during our autumn. At this time of year, just in case that is not obvious due to the currently prevailing weather conditions.

It's not the cold that bothers me it's all this rain, at least you can still get out on a cold day.  Wink

Sunday  3am
If you went outside in the past two hours, you needed a Hard Hat !!
Large Hailstones, Air Temperature 4.2ºC
Monday Morning at 8am  predicted 0ºC

UPDATE:  Monday 2am
As forecast, at  2am it's 2.6ºC outside, but inside a nice hot mug of Tomato soup is most enjoyable !
[Well away from my Study & computer keyboards etc !!]

The Office in Hong Kong is starting the day at 25ºC !

De-icer poised and ready.....
First time for many months now.
Heated seats on today methinks.

Re: It was less than 10ºC outside !! It's now gone Minus ...

It's gone minus, again !!
2:30am  -0.8ºC
Just the weather for bumps, cars travelling too close and too fast on slippery roads..
Lots of narrow twisty country roads nearby.
It's very light outside at 2:30am, but then there is a light covering of the White Stuff !
To be expected, as we had a lovely cloudless blue sky day Thursday.

Heated car seats most welcome this past week.
Extra fluffy warm all enveloping Ski hat for walk into the Village yesterday.
Looks daft, but is deliciously warm.

UPDATE:
8:00am  1.7ºC
I am now officially a Hoody !!
Bought a fleece lined Hoody at WDW Florida last year, it looked nice & thick, no real use last Summer.
However today, I put it on, ( with other Winter clothing ! ) and de-iced the Bird Baths, looks like it will become part of my Winter wardrobe.
Still needs an extra Therminsulate beanie though for wandering around the Village.
It's good at keeping the wind off my neck, better than the large scarf I wore yesterday.
