Snow, Weather, weather radar etc

With all this talk of more snow, I just checked the weather radar and not much heavy precipitation

As someone who is directly under the big coloured blob covering Cornwall, I can vouch for the fact that there is plenty of precipitation here!

As someone who is under the Influence big golden orb, generally referred to as the sun, and basking in it, with white fluffy clouds, and blue skies,    Smiley

Re: Snow, Weather, weather radar etc

That's a slow web site:

Strange words ?
"wintriness over the far north, and rain and sleet edging into the far South West later today, most of Gelid Britannia ... "
Interesting site though. There are a few private meteorological companies apart from the governments Met office.
a quick browse showed a Sheffield City Airport. I thought it had closed after just a few years use, after having been built on one of the old steel works Huh

I prefer this one http://www.weatherbonk.com/weather/summary.jsp?where=shefield&_submit=go&_id=&_className=weathermaps...  it give from reports all over the world, including the rigs in the North Sea Mal hover over the temps shown and it gives details of the station

Re: Snow, Weather, weather radar etc

I usually trust the rain radar more than the weather persons, especially in the short term.
So I also check out the Met Office Rain radar, just before walking the dog.
I usually have it zoomed in Firefox so that the image is as big as possible, and as Firefox 3 remembers the zoom settings per site, it's automatically scaled up each time I call up the page.

Re: Snow, Weather, weather radar etc

A question was asked in parliament today about a shortage of road salt.  It appears there isn't enough to go round and we will be running out.  We've used too much Wink Wink
There are going to be some dangerous roads around if something isn't done about it.
