Smart TV's

I recently raised a question in another section of the forum regarding apps requiring permission and one person who responded with a detailed answer also added that there was greater concern about the TV being connected to the internet than apps asking for permission.

Checking this out further it seems that smart TV's can indeed be vulnerable to threats (so not so smart after all) but anything connected to the internet can be a security risk, with more and more things being connected such as security systems, etc the time may not be far off before most things are connected, time to worry or is it too late to worry.

Re: Smart TV's

We’re well past the point of no return now, you can get kettles and toasters that are part of ‘The Internet of Things’ heck, there’s even an App for my Tumble Dryer [-Censored-]!

Does nobody remember Talkie Toaster, that monomaniacal artificially intelligent device featured in Red Dwarf!
